SISTERS SERVING JESUS IN NIGERIA Have you ever been happy about going
to the doctor's office for a shot? I rejoiced recently, for that
sting meant I was finished with an eight shot regimen prescribed for
travel to Nigeria. "Nigeria?! Isn't travel there unsafe?"
I've been asked. "Why go to Nigeria?"
Why, indeed? As this newletter goes out to Lutheran Womens Missionary Society sisters across North America, a team of LWMS women will be in Nigeria to meet with our Nigerian sisters in Christ. Through the trip, the team hopes to encourage the Nigerian women to reach out with works of service make them eager to speak of Jesus, and empower them to be a force for Christ within their communities. Over a period of three weeks our LWMS team will make presentations to six or seven different groups of women throughout Nigeria. Travel and attending the seminary graduation will take up the rest of the time. One of the presentations will center on the women of faith in the Bible and on what God says about women in his Word. Other presentations will emphasize what the Nigerian women can do to work together to share Jesus. Women belonging to our two sister synods in Nigeria will be challenged to unite to work for Jesus in sharing the gospel message. The LWMS team asks that you keep them in yor prayers. Travel in Nigeria is risky, even with the precautions taken. Pray also that the joy of serving and sharing our Savior's good news is communicated effectively. May his will be done in Nigeria!
