NEW BIBLE CLASSES COMING
The Sunday 10:30am class will soon move from its study of the book of Romans to a topical review titled "What Must I Do To Be Saved?"  This course will give us a better understanding of how our salvation came about and also help us answer others who want to know more about the good news of Jesus Christ.  The Tuesday 7:00pm class is concluding its study of the book of Jonah and will next take a look at "Trinity -- One God, Three Persons", a basic truth of the Bible which has had its controversies in ancient times as well as today.  Watch the Sunday bulletin for exact startup dates.

SUNDAY SCHOOL
Classes are now in session every Sunday at 10:30am for Kindergarten through 1st Grade.

CHRISTIAN WORSHIP SUPPLEMENT
Over the past several months you've heard a little about this new addition to our hymnal.  At their last meeting our Voters resolved to purchase the electronic edition as soon as it becomes available later this fall.  We have also subscribed to a copyright release service for an annual fee.  This will enable us to print the parts of the Supplement in our service folder as we need them and not have to deal with another book in the pew.  We have already purchased copies of the Supplement for our Choir to use as they help introduce the new hymns and Psalms in our services.  A sample set of CD's containing 32 of the 88 hymns in the Supplement is available in our Church Library or you may purchase your own at www.nph.net

CONGREGATIONAL MEETING
On Sunday, November 16th, our 9:00am service will be abbreviated so that we can hold a "town hall" type of Congregational Meeting in the time remaining.  The meeting will begin with an updated presentation of a self-study done about three years ago.  Your presence is very important; please plan to be with us.

VOTERS ANNUAL MEETING
Please note the date:  Sunday, November 23rd, 10:30am (NOT the last Sunday of the month).  Elections and adoption of a budget for 2009 are on the agenda.

UPCOMING WORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
Special services will be held on Thanksgiving Eve, Wednesday, November 26th, at 7:00pm, and on Wednesdays during Advent:  December 3rd, 10th, and 17th, also at 7:00pm.  Theme for this year's Advent services is "My Soul in Stillness Waits", from one of the hymns in the new Christian Worship Supplement.

IN MEMORIAM
We note the passing of Pastor Bill Meier whom our Savior graciously called home after a battle with cancer.  Services were held at Grace, Glendale, on September 26th.  Pastor Meier served at St. Thomas, Phoenix, from 1967 until his retirement earlier this year and conducted the first services here at Prince of Peace in 1969-1970.  He also served as WELS Board for World Mission chairman for many years.

Daily Devotions is a free service provided by the WELS Commission on Evangelism through its WhatAboutJesus website. The devotions are distributed every weekday by email. On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays they normally focus on the appointed Scripture lessons of the past Sunday. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, there is a series on a specific book of the Bible. Currently, devotions are based on Genesis. You can subscribe to have the devotions sent to you joining nearly 10,000 people who are receiving them daily. Starting September 3, the daily devotions are available as a downloadable audio file, so you can listen to them at your computer or on an iPod. Go to http://www.whataboutjesus.org and click on Daily Devotions.
